Robert's Wedding Vows

Dearest Eunice,

When I met you, I met beauty.

When I saw your face, I saw a living doll.

When I heard your voice, I heard an Angel.

When I looked into your eyes, I saw kindness.

When I held your hand, I felt love.

I listened to your stories,

But I felt that I had been with you the entire time.

Where I could have seen differences,

I saw humanity,

And you rewarded me with friendship.

Where I might have found the distance between us too great to overcome,

I found patience,

And you gave me your gratitude.

While I could have seen misunderstanding,

I saw a challenge

And you rewarded me with love.

Though we could have felt discouraged, by the challenges that faced us,

We chose to give each other endless joy,

Whether together or apart,

As our love grew ever deeper,

Because we knew that we were meant to be soul-mates.

Now that the day of our wedding is finally here,

I know that the wait was worth it,

And I promise that I will always love you truely.

I realize the importance of compromise, communication,

And working together as a team to solve problems;

I promise to remain stubbornly devoted to our relationship.

I will do my best to turn disagreement into cooperation,

Difficulties, into solutions,

Frustration, into patience,

And imperfections, into love.

On your ring finger, I soon will place your wedding ring,

Then family and friends will congratulate us,

Angels will cheer, and God will smile,

As we begin our life together as husband and wife,

Though my heart tells me

That our love has no beginning and no end.
